after the first draft, I knew I needed to make it a lot better, and I knew this was going to be a real challenge as I am essentially collaging onto this imaginary gallery wall space which means the possibilities are literally endless. I actually struggle with collages especially when there are a lot of elements... and this time I don't even know how many elements I'm including.. but somehow I worked through it through the night and came out with a configuration I think I like... there were definitely a lot of technical struggles like learning how to use perspective wrap, and vanishing point etc... but I learnt a lot in this process. I might even keep doing these just for fun. I really think something like this could just be a final piece of work. presented in the same gallery space perhaps. anyway, I will upload the final result in the next posts.
I think always one of the biggest challenges with collage is the balance of things... which I struggle with a lot - I experience this when I tried to design posters etc. in the past, I would want to include too many elements and it'll look too busy. I tried my best in this proposal to have just enough work... hopefully not too much.
Below are some screenshots of the process in making (the text work) (and the proposal)...
I really loved when the vanishing point tool was being difficult but produced really interesting stretched visuals - definitely gonna use this glitch to create some work in the future. I also liked overlaying flat images over other flat images over a three dimensional space... something unsettling about it.. because it is beyond physics/reality..
