I revisited the video zoë shared a week ago about the research journal flip through. even though I have an online research journal, it was really useful anyway and the questions she asked in the video is helping me see what they want to see in the journal.. I have to think about how to make certain posts easier to find.. anyway, notes below..
-------
e.g talking about artwork and how that’s been useful to you ...
-tell us about how you organised your journal, does it have a contents page?
-how have you used your journal and has it been really useful to you to make it, what have you used it for?
-which are the main artists you referenced in your journal?
-can you direct us to someone of particular importance to the most recent work that you’ve made?
-can you show us where the supporting texts are that you reference?
-can you direct us to any materials or processes.. maybe to a section that gives examples as well of artists who’ve perhaps used particular materials or processes?
-can you direct us to the PPD section that’s in your journal and talk a little bit about what’s in there?
-can you show us three really important pages that have had a particular effect on your studio work?
-is there somewhere in your journal where you referenced this period of time and how you’ve had to make the visual proposal?
-given that this journal would probably have started long before the lockdown, maybe you can direct us to some shows that you’ve visited? if this is a new journal can you direct us to things you visited online that has been of value to your practice?
-do you have documentation of the making of particular works that you’d like to show us in your journal?
(live research journal flip through) nothing to be asked for that is not already in the journal.
e.g you are not somebody who thinks through processes particularly and has a cerebral or archival practice. can just say that’s actually not in my journal, maybe you’d like to see this. (and show something else instead)
