zoë asked a group of us to participate in a conversation with the external examiner maria fusco for the MCP experience, and there was a good sampling of us, in that most of us did essays, and a zine and presentation so there was a mix of experiences. it was interesting for me to hear about the others' experiences as well, and they made quite good suggestions (e.g having a chance to see mcp examples at the end of second year) (or having some essay writing support in second year as well as we were sort of thrown into writing the smaller essay then)
I had an overall positive experience with the MCP so I was describing visiting academic support and going in with specific questions to get the most of the sessions, and also that I had special 1-1 sessions for my dyspraxia and organising the timetabling etc. (though in the end I didn't follow that very well). anyway, I'm glad I participated, it was interesting to provide material for an external examiner who examines our tutors and how they assess or support us.
