I came across an opportunity to apply for the lumen prize (which emphasises on the digital/technology) on artquest and decided to apply. It was only after I paid for the second entry (the first is free if you are applying for the student works) that I don't really have strong/explicitly digital works that I can apply with... I learnt my lesson of looking more thoroughly at the past winners and doing some research on what they're looking for specifically.. but I already paid so, I gave it my best shot anyway, in my descriptions trying to emphasise on the digital processes as much as possible even though all I did was some simple experiments on photoshop and dimension. I hope at least they can see I appreciate technology immensely in my work...
It was quite hard writing those descriptions within a word limit but every time you do it you practice being succinct. and now I really see the value of taking good quality images. I don't know why I didn't get a good camera shot at copeland, I think I was too busy with documenting the actual show/progress, oops..
