I know these are really random photos of my phone on my pillow right now, but I want to hopefully get a strange landscape out of this from zoom/photo manipulation... especially being so inspired from seeing other artists do this (especially digital concept artists in 3D). I just had the urge to take photos today, because I wanted to use my DSLR, after watching some videos on camera framing. just on their own, maybe not so much visually but the feeling, reminded me of the space odyssey plinth in that beginning scene (still need to watch the whole thing) I also hoped it kind of spoke to the domestic / maybe even being topical in regards to the pandemic. also, the brief glimpse of the window. the 'nature' we see is in the backlight, being lit by its own means. Also, ever since I got these silk ish material pillowcases, I found them intriguing, such a strange material, it never looks the same, and it reflects a little of the colours upon it. you see the colours dancing around even if you hover your hand over it in the sunlight. In this gloomy daylight from the clouds, it has a strangely depressing but serene mood... anyway, I'm not that great at photoshop yet (the most advanced thing I've done in the past is probably make gifs and animated frames etc. and other basic stuff) but I kind of want to edit the phone in a way it doesn't look like a phone, and if that's not possible, I do like the way of the phone being larger than scale where the figure is tiny, as with the ideas I've been having recently.

a landscape you can imagine walking into but is obviously a screen.. |
emphasis on reflection on phone screen. that tree is sleeping in the air, on my pillow, in the digital space of my phone. |
totally different feeling from this angle. |
domestic. if I suddenly wake up as a tree (like Fran bow in the video game), trapped in a phone |

I love this kiwi souvenir from NZ I got in the summer, it has a ribbon that says New Zealand on it, and the kiwi bird is so fluffy and cute, an idealised version of the national bird for the domestic space. for children, for family, for a token to say you've thought of them even though you were in another country. I saw some kiwis in my time there, but of course they were in the contained wildlife center (will gather some pics from there in another post*), otherwise I would have never seen them with my own to eyes. |

my plushies/soft toys always look like this on my bed, dead. they also look like an abstract indoor landscape.. |
