alice from manga exhibition (british museum) + sci-fi

I was thinking about the retelling/re-imagining of Alice in wonderland yesterday and that reminded me that there was a brilliant section in the manga exhibition that was held at the British museum months ago before summer (which I went to twice because it was so good, once for photos on my phone and twice for photos on my dslr) that was right at the beginning of the space, leading in, just like how Alice fell into that rabbit hole. I realise I haven't made an in-depth post about that particular exhibition, but right now I just want to reference here the photos that are relevant to my thinking from yesterday - the Alice works, but also the numerous, fantastic sci-fi works featured, I never paid much attention to sci-fi thing before, but ever since recently I've become more and more interested in the aesthetic and concept of it all - it really is all about human achievement and hope for the future and technology and everything that's out there and human existence itself - and with me crossing into the digital more and more I feel this area is calling out to me. anyway, I'll attach here some photos (there were so many original works in the exhibition! I still cant quite believe the talent that manga artists have, to draw in such a perfect way that it looks already printed. and you realise upon closer inspection they're hand inked and that delicacy is beautiful.)
