I just had my skype interview with geraint (who I interviewed for my dissertation) and it was great to because he could see my work in relation to the research for the writing. We talked through my works (I went into more detail about the nightmare painting) and he mentioned some things... like how a lot of the work is about family... and that the (No Place) Like Home one is particularly successful...and he asked me about how I treat paint as a medium in my works... then I asked him a few questions about the course, because obviously I applied for Chelsea fine art but got turned over to this painting course, but I knew that painting is an expanded notion anyway so I could do photography, film, etc... and he was telling me about the different facilities they have (though I think you still need to buy wood from external places, which was kind of a burdensome, I experienced that at camberwell foundation) so now all the painting courses, BA and MA, are in Camberwell... (geraint himself said he thinks Wimbledon has a better system in the workshop.. I also didn't know that he was at Wimbledon for 16 years..) anyway, it went well and he said he was more than happy to offer me a place on the course! I only applied for three MA courses so I'm really happy. I can accept the CSM fine art course at archway, this camberwell painting one, and now I'm just waiting for the RCA application results that are probably gonna come out in a few days... but to be honest I'd be really happy to stay in UAL.
