bad painting prize set up and event

Bad painting was a huge success. The day before, agata asked me if I could take pictures and videos of the event, which I was going to do anyway. I was really excited! I loved documenting things, even if it was just on my phone. I did end up bringing my DSLR for some more HD pictures (though trinh has to help me take them during the auction cause I was busy recording every second of the happenings).

That morning I had my telephone interview with CSM for MA fine art painting, and it could not have gone better, I was a bit nervous, but it was really like a nice chat with a tutor, maybe even like a tutorial. He asked me where I am based, if I knew that the campus is at archway (I went to the open day) etc. and we discussed my method of using collage for a bit, and he was telling me about his student using the facilities at CSM, and it was actually really interesting. All in all he was super friendly and made me feel at ease and actually quite want to go there. At the end, he said, if you’d come here we’d love to have you, you’ll get a written confirmation from us soon. So I got in! Can’t believe it. The next thing for me is to wait for results for RCA and have the Skype interview for MA painting at camberwell (which, originally, was an application for Chelsea fine art but they didn’t accept me there, instead saying I was more suited for camberwell’s painting course).

I actually went in at 10 that day to make two panels because I realised the workshop was going to be shut in Easter etc, so I was working on that in the workshop (which was only open that day! Super stressful) until my interview. After my interview with CSM, which went well, the decorations were already up for bad painting, and it looked amazing. The mood was there, agata and zeena were transporting Bob Ross into the lecture theatre, and I began my picture/video taking. And the rest of the afternoon-night went great, the hosts were fantastic, it was such a fun night. I’m so glad I was part of it and was able to record everything. I’m glad I entered a painting this year too. It was really great seeing people work together with different roles and create this ‘beautiful train wreck’. I made a highlight on the wca instagram page of the event to be able to look back on it.
