06.01.20 first day back last term third year
We had a briefing this morning and received a lot of information about our packed term ahead. It is honestly very fast paced with things building up constantly in third year, and it has been getting on top of me (my 60+ unfinished blog posts..), especially as someone who lacks in time perception and organisation. I’ve gone through a whole week of all nighters to get a first draft of my MCP (the big bulk, not counting introduction and conclusion and other bits in the middle). I was happy with the progress, but I am realising now how much editing and rewriting is ahead of me since there are many flaws in clarity in organisation in the bulk I wrote. Anyway, my head is all over the place after getting briefed on what’s going to happen this term, among other commitments like applying for MA, but I’m going to try to list what I have to do and what I can focus on…
-applying for MA (personal creative journey video/statement/photo selection/motivation statement check)
-MCP (accommodated assessment, 20th feb, book academic support tutorial after some editing/more finalised)
*studio tutorial with dan: next week probably (get work done)
-interim show (21 feb)

In terms of studio work, I am not happy how it has halted considerably after having to work on the MCP. apart from the box painting, I've virtually had no new work (apart from the digital print, and the canvas experiment) and its been around 4 months already. (even though it feels like I've been working on my practice this whole time) during the time I was working on my MCP I've had numerous ideas for studio work sprout up here and there, and now I finally have a window to consider them (I have to! with the tutorial, copeland, and interim show coming up), so I am gonna look at ideas from my notes now, which probably won't make sense but just for personal reference:

geraint, change came when he used photographs taken during residency.. stunning mountain.. maybe I can look for photos I took. very foggy memories like Switzerland. (Interesting how I was born in nature-orientated New Zealand yet I feel.. so distanced..) I don’t remember it at all.. now it is all touristy.. ‘found myself painting the idealised and distanced landscape again and again’ relation of this landscape and constantly moving in my life.. just inner as well. fragmented blurry
