selected photos from powell-cotton museum

I finally got around to going through the huge amount of photos I collected at the powell-cotton museum... some of these have emphasis on reflections (like the photographer diane fox) some of these just had interesting compositions... some I like them as photographs...some I would like to paint...I am not too sure what I am going to do with these just yet... trace and paint as usual.. I do want to do that... seeing the digital print work from the language art meeting by huiping and also alison's photo etching made me think... I do really want to do some printing.. though not necessarily screen print type... I quite like the idea of digital print because it is processed digitally... somewhat accurately, in our eyes... I think that will add another layer to the work... perhaps I could do all of these things... I also do wanna print the text I was playing around with as well...

the presence of the temperature control...unnatural

floating.. I like the contrast between graphic shapes and free-forming, 'natural' ones

the accidentally blurred ... I feel like, is representative of how I felt.. though through the lens, it wasn't as impactful. through the glass then the camera lens. double

I like how charged the central animal seems to be. considering painting.

I love the light reflections, if I painted it perhaps it would look quite graphic and reference the digital as well.

really want to paint this. have the figure burning up looking at these dioramas or something.

those dead glassy eyes.

colours are so artificially saturated.

looking at the horizon they once saw. now they only have the sky blue ceiling.

something serene and gentle, finally. I like the label.
