I had my MCP feedback tutorial with tom this morning, and it was really helpful. I was very uncertain about the progress I've made so far, and I still am, but I feel encouraged after the feedback. He said I was doing all the right things for research (e.g. interviews) and that I could put the interviews in the appendix and reference to them to help the word count. He also said he liked the more narrative description of my experience in the museum, and that I should do more passages and spread these out throughout the essay (I'll continue on the different rooms in the museum..) and I'm so relieved that he liked that part as well cause I was definitely not sure about that either. I did think that I was referencing too many film references - which he did say I should edit down, and it feels more like a new territory that might not fit into this word count, right now I just need to really focus my end point (our perception of nature, realising that it comes from culture etc. is perhaps why I feel the strong emotional response etc etc.) and engage with the essay from there. he said he could tell that I was immersed in the topic, which I'm happy to hear because I really was. I think it's because I care so much about this topic that I want it to be perfect, which is why I'm finding it hard to write it. But I'll have to work through it. I think when I write more, I'll be able to have more questions to go to academic support or ask him about. My plan is to write a lot of it during the break... I don't want time to catch up with me even though it already is.
