I went to the four hands meet event that sarah and hanne hosted and it was really great, seeing all those performances inspired me to draw more and be more hands-on, because in the past year or so I think I've been using a lot of digital means to progress with my ideas, which isn't a bad thing, but I do miss when I used to get really messy and have inks and spray paint everywhere... also, unexpected things happen and they become part of the painting. I felt that feeling when I was painting the mountain painting, when I wasn't using oils, but a lot of water-based mediums, I was using my hands, bigger brushes, and it was fun. But I do love having control digitally, whatever that means. I liked the idea of music/sounds and drawing responding to each other, it reminded me of in high school art class when we learnt about synesthesia and wassily kadinsky and how he saw sounds as colours etc etc... numerous artists have made work about making sound into something visual... it was also very inspiring to see how people use different ways to make marks/sounds. anyway, the event was really entertaining and valuable.
