Double Doors. 2013- made first sculptural show, physical space. sense of agency, not necessarily means the work is interactive. choreographed certain relationships, uncommon spaces. partly in situ. originally gonna be mirror on outside. an inside out space. didn’t want to have a familiarity of eg a room of a house. took from google maps. from an in between space. made shapes. Ebbs and flows. certain corners and areas. Thinking of the city as the soul or the psyche. large scale field work. 2018- Current: sloped floor. enough that you don’t see it. a not quite there place. invited to curate a show art council. huge collection. can’t look at them first - online catalogue. how to realise your own biases when you approach a collection, things that are seen more. thinking of Japanese zen gardens. Create a space that had this meditative atmosphere. open display, no barriers. different negotiations, conservation. lighting. programmed, fluctuated throughout the day, almost outdoor indoor space. found a lot of amazing artists by digging into the collection. which is largely Male artists. someone said it wasn’t a serious sculpture (loop) it was also damaged. 
like between entertainment, immersive. making this kind of work. plug into institution in a way. can become a spectacle. has specific rules in her work. engage in those rules if you want to be involved in them eg taking shoes off. defining what they want those things to do. very specific, not just looking. much more interested in emotion.. 2019-The weather garden. quite subtle lighting changes (based on wind speed) soft and intimate, floors too. physical/psychological spaces? alone in those spaces? has restricted numbers of spaces, ideally 1 but not practical in institutions. physical environments, Hope they are emotive spaces. spend ages in there. materials and what do u do with them afterwards. mix: sourced from specific places, Rubbish, pick up sometimes. whole work in permanent collection. or recycled. make space from materials or materials to form space? area of London, carrying history and time. certain parameters within the space eg controlled museum space. Really depends on situation, mix of two at the moment. lots of things occur at the same time. budget. Journey? before art school studied science, engineer. painting degree, RCA MA photography. studio in east London. stared building things in the house. didn’t want to take photos of things that already existed, so started building. how did she get work into museums, not really an answer to that, talk to people, eg two curators at show; had seen her work without her knowing. no idea who’s seeing. inviting people to studio. not a very straight answer but hard to know how it works, doing things and talking to people. advocate, responsibility for system to change. how do we pay artists properly. site specific commission. didn’t get paid much. good to start thinking about. correct and fair in relation to the institution, gallery.
