I knew that nel was doing her unit 8 essay on something that interested me greatly as well - existentialism in contemporary japanese modern art - and it was very helpful indeed for her to show me her writing/research. I was greatly inspired and feel less afraid to go towards that sort of style which is not very common through the college.
She mentioned the artist makiko kudo - looking at the artist’s saatchi profile, it seems that her paintings do have that ‘loveliness and loneliness’ and revisiting of bittersweet childhood days. (Definitely have some sort of overlap in those ideas)
