—- as many times I’ve been to the British museum for the prints & drawings workshop, I’ve never actually walked through the museum’s permanent and temporary collections since when I first came to London a few years ago. so I was excited to go through it again and see what’s new. It was very overwhelming, of course, but walking through such a huge collection that I couldn’t really look at everything in depth in a few hours, but the thing that interested me the most was the Japanese paintings of those monsters. No surprise, I always find the Japanese section most fascinating. That and, I walked past a, basically, cabinet of curiosities in the library room and I recalled the lecture a few weeks before. Full of strange shells and scary looking taxidermy. Loved it.
