This was the first time visiting the collection for me - it was very exciting and overwhelming. Seeing these great works up close, you really see the fine detail and skill behind them. It greatly inspired me to paint more in oils and think about different compositions. I was particularly drawn to the hunting/animal paintings + the narrative in some others (titles) e.g. the girl with the broken mirror + the building itself was so impressive/intricate + the immense detail on those boxes (for jewellery?)
