I signed up for the creative writing workshop for the unit 5 masterclasses. It was extremely useful and interested me a lot. I feel there are not enough creative writing workshops within our course. I like writing but I don't know very much about poets/authors etc. and it was fascinating to see the examples of writing that he showed us - with an emphasis on playing with form. Who says a short story can't be a sentence long? and then he read out the sentence-long story. It was brilliant. I'm definitely going to incorporate more writing in my work and with the screen printing workshops I've gone into, perhaps I could print text on work as well. The tasks he gave us in the class were really quite challenging, I feel sometimes I struggle to get that creativity going. He said its normal for some people to feel creative writing in short bursts. He encouraged us to write at the same time everyday regularly since our brains would get more accustomed to turn on that creative switch.
