- relationship with film as a maker construction of materials / not narrative
- loophole cinema
- let process lead her
- Incorporate messy world she lives in and finding new way of paradigm to make her head fizz again
- tend to use processes as a starting point and review it, effects that are happening
- photographs are still but so much activity - frustrating - want it to behave or misbehave.
- caught up in mundane activities in the world / personal / everyday.
- work from what you know. not exclude yourself .
- finding your own conversation with the material. in a way you understand and can manage. when the material responds to you you respond back . letting go of the proper way of doing things.
The main thing I got out of this lecture was to play with your material - what she said about letting go of the 'proper' way of doing things was quite inspiring. She actually purposely scratched all her films by mopping up her floor - and a lot of clothing fibres went on it but gave an interesting effect. Like her, I am also messy, I completely relate when she said something will go wrong somewhere. Also when she mentioned about the mundane activities.
