(unit 5) presenting our two week project

Today we presented the result of the two week tasks. It was really interesting seeing how the other groups have developed their ideas in different ways. On the morning of the presentation we gathered to build the set of our skip shop, using materials from the skip (what’s left of it) and the canvases we collaboratively painted together. In the end the set up looked quite good, and the shabbiness of it all fit the environment (although it’s much cleaner now after being collected compared to the mess before) Julika was giving us suggestions and things to think about such as: who is the target audience? Could there be multiple shops around the campus? Would the shop be staffed / operated? could it be placed somewhere else so it’s more visible eg the entrance? Who are the neighbors beside the skip (they had frosted windows)? How could we document the interaction between people and the shop? which are all valid questions we discussed for the festival in the meeting after. We’re definitely going to stick with this idea, though we all agree there’s room for expansion/improvement in making the shop entrance more visible/somewhere else. We also thought about making flyers on recycled paper by screen print (since we’re also spreading the message of recycling) but Julika wondered if that’s even necessary, depending on how obvious our entrance is. Our group is going to meet on Monday to discuss this further and fill out the proposal form for the festival.
