what does it mean to start with a place of abundance? (not marginalised) feeling like one has access to what one needs.
- had a breakdown, doing too much work.
- ask herself what does it mean to center her own healing in the work.
- in lead up in developing the work she started to create a folder of screenshots of messages, selfies, social media, etc that related to ABUNDANCE. becomes research. Instagram woman smelling flower - example of abundance.
- curtains: working with for number of years. PVC curtains. perfomative gesture. Audience part of the process making an entrance making a clear demarkation of inside and outside, also reference in sexual communities. water floor, alternate universe? built sound system with London peers. important to her that it wasn’t hired and made. felt like the right moment to build one. acoustic foam which you can lie on. tricky how to include seats in it. not trying to conceal sound and mechanism. road of sculptural object. balloons: playful touch but also concrete nod to nightclubs, first lgbtq night reference, an icon within the queer community. change in time. image in back wall. photograph ‘body builder with bra’ only seen this image in flesh in the exhibition. he took this photo in 1990 and hasn’t been exhibited since then. interactive show: activated.
- sound system: own instagram. build from scratch. knowledge passing on. queer people of colour involved in activism, nightclub etc. community resource. gifted to community. doing a fundraiser cost involved for insurance, needs a home. don’t consider herself as a socially engaged artist but usually work with other people.

- images she wanted to see didn’t exist so used her own body. don’t feel the same need to be in the work anymore recently.
