In the weekend I travelled to paris for the first time and experienced first-hand how beautiful it is, particularly how the sun shines on everything, especially at golden hour. I took a lot of pictures of how the light hit those buildings (on my way to the eiffel tower) and I thought it was both sad and beautiful. Especially since we were walking to the light beige colored alleyways, I truly felt like I was somewhere foreign, not just in france but somewhere I didn’t know existed, like an unreal reality. It was a chilly day and looking at the false heat of the sun made me feel even colder. I hugged my jacket closer and breathed a huff of fog. I saw the eiffel tower in the distance and it was this strange shade of peach-beige-pink basked in twilight, pre-dusk. It was soft and pretty but it also revealed the rigid industrial mechanics of the tower itself. I am going to print these pictures out, ones with a similar softness in color. perhaps I can collage these in some way. Perhaps even make digital collages.
